• This week Rodman completed the delivery of the eighth and last patrol boat under the 8-unit Rodman 55 contract, named “Audaz VIII”.
• The boat has been delivered to the full satisfaction of the owner, the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT), and will be based in Huelva.

Rodman Polyships S.A.U., a shipyard of the Rodman Group specialised in the construction of all types of GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) boats and vessels, this week completed the delivery of the last unit under the contract for 8 Rodman 55 high-speed patrol boats, built for the surveillance service of the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT).

The delivered boat, named “Audaz VIII”, the eighth and last unit of the Audaz Series, was received to the full satisfaction of the AEAT in Huelva, where she will be based.

With the delivery of this last unit, Rodman successfully completes one of the most demanding contracts of its recent history, having built and delivered, one by one, the eight patrol boats that make up the Audaz Series.

The Rodman 55 patrol boats of the Audaz Series have exceeded all expectations, comfortably surpassing the technical and operational performance required by the owner. Powered by waterjets, they have positioned as the fastest high-speed patrol boats in their category, combining manoeuvrability, reliability and outstanding performance at sea.

The boat is intended for patrol, interception and surveillance tasks to enforce national and international regulations, and is specifically designed for planing at high speed during pursuits. All of these tasks will be carried out with the utmost attention to the comfort and safety of the crew, made up of six people.

This contract has further strengthened Rodman’s experience, expertise and know-how in the design and construction of high-speed patrol boats, consolidating the relationship of trust with the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) with the Rodman 55 model.

Rodman 55: high-speed patrol boat

With an overall length of 17 metres, this Patrol Boat model has been developed by Rodman’s design, development and engineering teams, perfectly combining high performance, reliability, build quality and seakeeping characteristics.

The boat is equipped with two marine diesel engines, each powering a waterjet with integrated gearbox:

• Main Engines: 2 MAN engines, model D2862 LE 436
• Water Jets: 2 HAMILTON Waterjets, model HTX42
