Rodman reaffirms its leadership in the construction of passenger catamarans by delivering two new crafts.

  • The Rodman 100 unit delivered to the Balearic shipping company Trasmapi and the Rodman 90 delivered to the shipping line Nabia, of the Acuña Group, are important referents in the manufacturing of passenger catamaran vessels worldwide.
  • With capacity for 150 passengers, the new Rodman 69 exceeds 21 m. in total length, reaches a speed of 20 knots and can be equipped with submarine vision. The Rodman 100, the largest passenger catamaran in Spain built under the International Code of Safety for High Speed Crafts (HSC) has capacity for 306 passengers and reaches a maximum speed of more than 27 knots, widely improving the Owner’s specified requirements.

The Shipyard Rodman Polyships S.A.U. closes the month of July with two new deliveries, consolidating its international leadership in the building of catamaran vessels. These are the Rodman 69 for the shipping line Nabia, of the Galician group Acuña, and the Rodman 100 for the Balearic shipping company Trasmapi (Sercomisa).

The Rodman 69 is one of the most renowned catamarans of those built by Rodman. With a total length of 21.4 m. and beam of 7.30 m., this catamaran reaches a speed of 20 knots and capacity for 150 passengers. She can also be equipped with submarine vision.

For her part, the Rodman 100 is the largest passenger vessel in Spain built under the International Code of Safety for High Speed Crafts (HSC), with capacity for 306 passengers and reaching a maximum speed exceeding 27 knots. A reference in sustainability thanks to the infusion lamination technique, used during her construction, which eliminates gas emission. This is the third catamaran delivered to Trasmapi in less than three years and the fifth craft delivered to this Owner.

Reference in efficient and innovative building of catamarans.

For the last several years Rodman has designed, built and delivered different types of catamarans, not only passenger catamarans but also for other uses such as hydrographic and research or offshore wind farm support catamaran vessels.

The experience acquired in this type of constructions positions Rodman as one of the European reference shipyards for this type of crafts.

With regards to design and construction of passenger catamarans under the HSC 2000 and the implementation of state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques, Rodman is positioned as undisputed leader in our country.

Rodman delivered in July 2016 the Rodman 90, the first catamaran built and delivered in Spain under the HSC code. One year later, the Company delivered the Rodman 100, the first 30 m. vessel in Spain designed and built under this same code.

Last week, the second unit of the Rodman 100 was delivered. The vessel was designed under the HSC code and built using state-of-the-art technologies in infusion lamination for the whole structure of the vessel.

Thanks to a perfectly analysed design, adapted to the requirements for this type of vessels, a remarkable improvement in consumption has been achieved with this new catamaran.
